MEMORIAL GARDEN COLUMBARIUM PROJECT
Dear Members and Friends of Peace Lutheran Church:
A columbarium ministry revives the age-old obligation of the church to serve its members from baptism through death. At the congregational meeting on February 13th, Peace Lutheran Church unanimously approved the following resolution: Resolved, That a Memorial Garden Columbarium Ministry be created and established at Peace Lutheran Church to allow the church to satisfy the need for Christian Burial on Peace Lutheran Church’s property.
A columbarium is a wall of niches, each capable of holding one or two urns that contain the cremated remains of the deceased. A Memorial Wall to contain granite plaques commemorating those whose remains are placed elsewhere is also being planned.
The project’s committee has visited columbariums in various locations, both in and beyond California. We have also met with Homecoming, Inc. of Scottsdale, Arizona who has been highly recommended for their Columbarium Systems, Products, and Services.
As we continue the planning of this project to serve our church, we need to assess the interest in the Columbarium and the Memorial Wall from our members (past and present), and friends. Therefore, enclosed you will find a survey that we ask everyone to fill out and return to the church, or drop in the offering plate.
Your input is very important to us as we go forward with plans for completing a beautiful Memorial Garden on our property. Please feel free to ask any of us to answer questions you may have.
Thank you,
MEMORIAL GARDEN COLUMBARIUM PROJECT
