Friends:

Forgiveness means that I continually am willing to forgive the other person for not fulfilling all my needs and desires.  You don’t have to love me unconditionally because only God can do that.  If we want other people to give us something that only God can give, we are guilty of idolatry.”  – Henri Nouwen

Deacon Tim Griesbach reports that 25 people have signed up for the Walker Creek Family Camp on September 13 and 14.  You can still sign up this weekend or contact the Church Office if you would like to join in.

Hopefully you’ve seen word that our Silly Sports Saturday Play Date has been changed to October 4.  Pr. Anita will welcome your assistance.

Our thanks to Deacon Charlene McPherson for getting the sanctuary platforms cleaned this summer.  Beautiful work!  The Education Wing carpet was also cleaned by our friends Dick and Rich Larson.

We will have a ‘Show or No Spaghetti Dinner’ on Saturday, September 20th at 5:00 PM.  Spaghetti, salad, and garlic bread for those that choose to show, or a free night to do with as you wish for the no shows.  $20 per adult, $15 per child.  Contact Raddi El Mogazi after church or by email at raddi1@yahoo.com to buy your ticket and reserve your place.  Sign up your friends and bring a bottle of your favorite wine.

700 flyers are going out through the Chamber of Commerce to advertise the following events on our Fall Calendar:

Friends of Bob Haines are invited to an Open House at the Haines’ home to celebrate Bob’s 85th Birthday on Sunday, September 21 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m.!

Soon you will be invited to sign up for the Prayer Circle, the Hospitality Committee or for the making of prayer shawls.  Look for upcoming details.

The Lone Ranger promised that if you are real good, she might return again someday.  It’s up to you! Hi-yo Silver and away!

Blessings, Pr. Steve
