Holy Convergence 2008 Reflections

Date October 8, 2008

The Holy Convergence on September 28, 2008, brought together many people from diverse spiritual traditions and opened our hearts in so many ways. The Opening and Closing Rituals were filled with Bahai Prayer, Shofar, Jewish chant, soulful drumming, Sikh chant and Sufi Universal Dances of Peace. Prayer Flags and Thankhas from the Rigpa Center surrounded us and the Methodist Church provided a Weaving on Harmony.  An Om, Kuan Yin, and Avalokiteshvara sat in the Cross.  The Dialogue Discourses were very meaningful for the participants.  Several Mandalas were worked on: a Sufi Winged Heart; one on Healing; and a Youth Mandala.  Tables with information and food were appreciated by all and Under the Tent provided further opportunity for prayer and chant in addition to that given us by members of the MA Center.  Mosaic T-shirts with all our interfaith symbols were purchased by many.  What a day of encouragement, hope and spirit!
