The St. Francis Animal Blessing and Pet Festival was a remarkable day!  A huge crowd turned out and over 125 pets were blessed; the smallest a rat and the largest a horse.  Some people brought their cat’s collars or a picture of their animal for blessing. Others asked for long distance healing for their animals who were too ill to attend.  ARF was a great co-sponsor with their Rescued and Therapy dogs. One dog was adopted!  A half dozen more Pet Care and Service groups provided resources for cats and dogs. The Art Exhibit included beautiful paintings and photos of dogs. There was face-painting and crafts for the kids and hot dog diving for the dogs. Kids came dressed as their animals. The Silent Auction and Raffle provided wonderful gifts.  It was a Sweet Day – the animals so well behaved and all the humans so happy.  A Blessed Occasion – this is the start of an Annual Tradition!
