Congratulations on your upcoming marriage! Peace Lutheran Church is delighted to share in your joyous occasion. Small or large, traditional or creative … a wedding here will be a memorable celebration of your love and commitment.
Our church is open to any couple seeking to be married in a beautiful, sacred space: members, non-members, believers, seekers, questioners, interfaith and same-sex couples. Wherever you are in life’s journey, you are welcome to be married here.
Through words and music, worship and prayer, uplifting art and architecture, the loving support of your families and friends, and the gentle presence of God, your marriage will be blessed as you pledge to love and honor one another for the rest of your lives.
Our pastors, The Rev. Steve Harms and The Rev. Elizabeth Chandler Felts, are always pleased to meet with you to talk about your wedding and to answer your questions. While our basic orientation is Christian, we will gladly work together with a second officiant or family member for interfaith marriages. Over several meetings, we will work with you to develop a unique, personalized wedding ceremony and to address important interpersonal issues like communication, conflict resolution and family spirituality.
Every part of our church gives expression to our name, “Peace.” Our Sanctuary is a serene place of prayer, filled with light, simplicity and gracious repose. It offers a joyous feast for the senses: colorful murals and symbolic statuary commissioned from artists around the world, sunlight breaking through stained-glass windows, water trickling playfully through the ever-flowing baptismal font. Outside, the garden of native plants, the sacred labyrinth and the exuberant Peace Mosaic are attractive settings for photographs. The Gathering Hall and a fully-equipped kitchen are an ideal venue for your reception, with beer and wine permitted.
Music is a vital part of your wedding and by virtue of its excellent acoustics, the Sanctuary is a warm, lively space for piano, organ, vocalists, instrumental duets or trios, classical or jazz ensembles and orchestras. Our Sanctuary is home to a three-manual, full pedal-board Allen “Renaissance” organ and two stately Yamaha C3 grand pianos. Our state-of-the-art sound system enables us to incorporate recorded music.
In addition to one of our pastors and our church musician, we provide the services of an on-site wedding coordinator, a member of the church who can answer your questions about candles, flowers, decorations, runners, photography, videography and other details about your wedding ceremony. Your wedding coordinator will be your main contact at Peace Lutheran Church, and will work with you and your hired professionals to ensure that your rehearsal, ceremony and church reception go smoothly.
The fee for a wedding at Peace Lutheran Church is $1,700. This includes the use of the sanctuary and church grounds for the rehearsal and ceremony, up to three planning/counseling sessions with the pastor, and the services of our church musician and our wedding coordinator. The fee for a wedding reception at the church starts at $400 and includes the use of the Gathering Hall and kitchen and the assistance of the wedding coordinator. (Reception fees do not include food, beverage, supplies or servers.) The church staff can quote a final fee based on your individual needs.
Your non-refundable deposit of $425 will confirm your wedding and rehearsal dates. If you also wish to hold your reception at the church, the deposit will be 25% of the total fee. The balance is due one month prior to your wedding date.
