Arts and Spirituality

St. Francis said, “Preach at all times, when necessary use words”. We believe God is communicating with us at all times. There are so many voices giving expression to the Grace of God. Creation points to the magnificence of it all. The mind illuminates, hands and hearts provide caring. Are we aware?

The arts have a special voice too! Poetry, dance, drama, painting, photography, music, ceramics, textiles all contribute to the praise of God - each uniquely expressing dimensions of life which language cannot deliver. All the arts (and artists!) are welcomed and appreciated at Peace. We host occasional art exhibits. The Art and Spirituality Committee will gladly receive requests/suggestions for displays. Gongs, drums, singing bowls, fire bowls, clowns, fountains, classical and contemporary art regularly inhabit our worship life. As Dostoevsky said, “By beauty we shall be saved.”
